Rock Hunters In Okeechobee

By Kristina Cabral March 5, 2017

While out shopping or enjoying a stroll in the park or perhaps a quick stop in our local Wal-Mart, have you or your child come across a beautifully painted rock? Or maybe you have painted and hidden one or more of these rocks yourself, in hopes to see your art work or even your advertisement found and posted on a local Facebook Group page.

If so, you are part of the fast growing rock painting/hunting Facebook Group “Okeechobee Rocks” which has taken this county by storm! After joining this group you can follow along in all of the fun, by posting your rock findings or paintings before hiding them. Now, the Facebook Group “Okeechobee Rocks” has reached out to the community in such a positive way there are many companies throughout Okeechobee County joining in on the fun! I know Macaroni Kid Okeechobee has already joined in on the fun and will be hiding our very own special rocks this week.

Our family  personally began following the page about 3-4 weeks ago after stumbling across a picture with a beautifully painted rock. I was curious and since then I enjoy watching the joy on the faces of those who are participating. What about you?

“Okeechobee Rocks” definitely does “rock”!!! So, if you have not joined in on the fun… you are certainly missing out!
