So Much To Say About Hurricane Irma

By Kristina Cabral September 20, 2017

 Hurricane Irma....

On the days leading up to the hurricane, I had a complete feeling of calmness, I knew that as long as I did all I could to prepare my family for this hit, there was not much more I could do, except pray and be ready for the worst case scenario. I went out picked up the few items I knew we would need as a family to manage and began the steps of preparing our home, animals and then explaining to the children what was going to happen. And prepared for the  "Hunker Down!" this is what our goal and I am sure your goal is as a family, while awaiting the grande entrance of any Hurricane.

So much happens to your community once a storm of this magnitude hits your town. State of Emergencies, FEMA  call centers open, distribution sites volunteer workers and let us NOT forget our linemen all rush to the aide of these cities and towns. It was so wonderful to see the "togetherness" that began to happen immediately after the storm. Everyone just started working together as one. and it was beautiful. In the midst of disaster, we all come together, we all thank one another, we all reach out and help regardless of need. And it as these times that we are reminded at how wonderful our community is.

I personally, want to thank all of my subscribers for their patience and understanding as we here at Vero Beach Macaroni Kid, worked hard at reporting only storm related news, not our typical "all things kid and FUN!" I want to thank everyone for their understanding as we waited for full internet and computer access. And with that, we will be back to our regularly promised ALL THIS FUN!!!!!
